Linda Womack
I am attracted to paintings that not only have appealing colors, but also those that are able to create a certain amount of texture. I discovered today that there is an actual technique to creating such texture called encaustic. The technique uses molten beeswax to bind pigments, transfer images and to create collages. Linda Womack is an encaustic artist from Oregon who has mastered the technique and has written a book titled Embracing Encaustic: Learning to paint with Beeswax. She also teaches the tecnique in live workshops. I may have to move to Oregon… |
