This was a heart warming movie about a Danish man named Keld who basically didn’t have a clue on how to live or enjoy life. Thus his wife of many years, simply gave up on their relationship and one day just packed up her bags and left. A charming and inspiring story which shows you that no matter what your age, you can still have dreams and as long as you have life, you have the power to make them come true. I think it is the music indeed that made this movie so absolutely lovable and made you realize while listening to it, that what some people may see as dysfunctional is to others completely normal, and what others see as completely normal is actually quite dysfunctional. This is the kind of movie that really makes you stop and take another look at a person before making an opinion without knowing the story beneath. “The Guitar” is the directorial debut of Amy Redford, and yes she is the daughter of actor Robert Redford. This is a beautiful French movie that takes you on a journey to glimpse the soul of Juliette Fontaine, a beautiful English woman who has just been released from prison after losing fifteen years of her life in confinement on the conviction of murder. I have seen the film "Water" in the video stores for quite some time now. It was first released in 2005 and I finally picked it up a few weeks ago. "Water", which is spoken in Hindi, takes you back in time to Varanasi, India in 1938 during British rule [...] When I first walked past this movie in the video store I saw the pink cover with a dorky looking guy on the front and thought to myself "that looks like a really stupid move". My local library is subscriber to "Film Movement" a distributor of independent and foreign films. I started ordering some to watch on the weekends as I have been getting somewhat bored with the type of movies that Hollywood has been turning out these days. |
